Official confirmation of residence, which some landlords request in addition.
The certificate of residence is issued by your municipality's residents' registration office (Einwohnerkontrolle). It officially confirms that you live there and since when. Some landlords request it as an additional document, especially for premium properties.
Cost: typically CHF 20-30. Processing: usually immediately at the counter, online 1-3 days.
Residence permit (B/C/G/L): for third-country nationals, this additionally confirms the residency category. Usually submitted together with the permit itself.
