The Schweizerischer Mieterinnen- und Mieterverband (SMV) is the national tenant protection organisation. With cantonal sections (Mieterverband Zürich, MV Bern, ASLOCA Genève, ASI Ticino), it offers tenants:

- Legal advice on rental contracts, terminations, defects, NK reconciliation - Legal protection insurance for disputes with landlord - Lease contract review - Political advocacy on tenant rights

Membership typically costs CHF 75-110/year. Worth it if you rent in Switzerland, since a single hour with a lawyer would cost more.
